Brand new Top Gear Magazine – out now – BBC Top Gear.

My photographs on the cover and inside spread of Top Gear Magazine this month – Mine are the Mercedes C63 AMG Black…in yellow. Shame they didn’t publish the photo of the car drifting with the wheels lit-up with red specks of sparks flying off the tyres as the metal strips inside the tyre disintegrated! I’ll put it up here as soon as I get my ‘Car’ photography section posted.

Pretty blown away with the D800 Spec – if only it had a faster DX shooting speed of around 8fps (it does 5 normally & 6 with the grip) and shot 1080p at 60fps – then it would appeal to every photographer going.

If this camera can throughput 4fps @ 36 MP, I wonder why it struggles to achieve more than 6fps in DX 15MP crop mode? Yet to see sample images, but if the noise handling is as capable as the D700 then this will be a winner.

I’m sure a camera with lower MP’s and much better noise handling and dynamic range is next on the agenda. Still, as a Canon shooter I can say that this is the first time in a long while that Nikon have caught my attention.

I eagerly await the Canon 5D MK3 to take over from my MK2, and I have still to decide if getting a 1DX would be worth the extra wonga over the 1D MK4. But damn, this D800 footage looks very, very clean – I look forward to seeing some raw video files against the 5D2.

Welcome to my site! So, I’ve finally started to get my head around WordPress and putting together the new site – please bear with me, I’m teaching myself as I fumble along…a painful process.

I’m still defining the end goal of this site…apart from the usual ‘Yes, I’m a snapper…here are some of my images, here are some of my clients, this is how I do my thing, now please give me some work’ routine, I’m also a massive fan of anything with 4 wheels (sometimes 3, definitely not 2), travel, technology, food, culture….you get the idea. So I’d like to incorporate some of my other interests into the site too. Eventually. For now though, I’d just be happy to settle on working out how to make a background semi-transparent using WordPress. It’s been a long day / last night!

In the mean time, I just uploaded some holiday snaps from a trip I managed to crash recently to the Mentawai Islands in Indonesia. More to follow soon.
